Changing Habits. Changing Mindsets. Changing South Africa.

Lasting environmental change begins with people. By changing habits, challenging social norms and inspiring action, we can build cleaner, healthier and more resilient communities across South Africa.

Our Vision

We envision a South Africa where caring for public spaces is part of everyday life — where environmental responsibility is shared, communities take pride in their surroundings, and future generations inherit a cleaner, healthier and more resilient country.

The Problem We Are Solving

A behavioural, environmental and social challenge.

Normalised Littering

Public spaces are often treated as belonging to “someone else”, creating widespread environmental neglect and reducing community pride.

Environmental Damage

Blocked drainage systems contribute to flooding. Polluted rivers damage ecosystems, while waste burning contributes to climate change and poor air quality.

Social Inequality

Poor waste management disproportionately affects vulnerable communities — increasing pollution, health risks, flooding and reduced access to safe public spaces.

Broken Social Norms

The real problem is not waste. It is the behaviours, expectations and social norms that allow littering to continue — and too often without consequence.

Our Response

We believe lasting change happens when people understand the problem, believe they can make a difference and take ownership of the places they share.

Why This Approach Works

Traditional clean-ups remove litter. Behaviour change prevents it.

When people understand why their actions matter, take ownership of shared spaces and inspire others to do the same, cleaner communities become the norm — not the exception.
